From our new President..........

The Club's next meeting is on January 20, 2010 at the Family Y. Call Brian at 519-371-4608 for information. All are welcome to come out, meet our members and talk about our activities.

The Light Up Costa Rica project is moving along. The report of the trip there in November 2009 by Club members Brian and Sharon will soon be on on the LUCR page on this website.

We have a new Club! The Y’s Service Club of San Jose was chartered in Costa Rica on June 14. We have sent them our congratulations, as well as a bell, gavel, and a flag set representing all the countries with Clubs, complete with engraving acknowledging the event. The Central Canada Region and the Canada/Caribbean Area have our thanks for sharing the cost of getting these items there. We have become official ‘Brother Clubs’ Now we are working on making that connection real. Discussions have started to get Canadian members and Costa Rican members together in the Talamanca to work on Light Up Costa Rica. If you are interested in participating in some 'voluntourism' and learning and working at the same time - call us or come to our meeting.

As the LUCR project builds momentum, and we expand our message about Fair Trade products, we can use your help. Come out to a meeting, or call Monroe for information 519-376-1334.
